Peer Review Process

The Malaysian Journal of Medical Research (MJMR) is a scholarly, refereed, quarterly, peer-reviewed publication. The editorial board will review submitted manuscripts and will be accepted if they meet the MJMR criteria and stand in agreement with the standards of the journal.

All manuscripts submitted to MJMR undergo a double-blind peer review process, where both the authors’ and reviewers’ identities remain anonymous to ensure impartiality. This process upholds the integrity, objectivity, and quality of scholarly publishing. Each manuscript is typically evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers before a final editorial decision is made.

Reviewers deal with manuscripts blindly and discuss the remarks in editorial meetings. Reviews are then sent to the corresponding author for suggested modifications and the corrected version of the manuscript will be peer-reviewed for a second time by two or three external reviewers.

Note: The turnover time for the review process is 2-8 weeks and the minimum turnover time for the publication process is 2-12 weeks.

According to the journal's publication policies, the submitted manuscript cannot be published in any other journal during the review process. The editorial board members have the full right to cancel or accept the manuscript for publication.
