Abstract

Adrenal gland trauma is a rare but potentially life-threatening injury that is often overlooked in the acute emergency setting. Here, we present a case of a 48-year-old male who sustained a left adrenal gland injury following a fall under alcohol influence, with delayed presentation and diagnosis. This case illustrates the importance of maintaining a high index of suspicion, especially in intoxicated patients presenting with undifferentiated shock. The case further highlights the diagnostic value of whole-body computed tomography (WBCT), when specific limitations exist like in the case of bedside ultrasound and the complex interplay between alcohol-related coagulopathy and trauma outcomes.
