MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Abstract
The Malaysian Journal of Nursing is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal that focuses mainly on nursing and health policy issues of significance to nurses. MJN welcomes original articles that help to advance global mission by representing nursing, advancing the profession and shaping health policy. Our journal also contributes to the ongoing development of nursing internationally with its diverse international readership. Published both in hard copy and on-line, MJN is a popular resource for nurses globally.
In the present times nursing has become an exciting career option as with a correct education, experience and career strategy, a registered nurse can travel almost everywhere in the world. A number of nurses enjoy traveling domestically, either to develop their skills in a particular specialty or for professional development. Other nurses merely enjoy a diversity of work backgrounds and choose to travel to a variety of locations to build professional connections to strengthen their career.
Specialties help increase a nurse’s opportunities. Experience and education make an individual nurse eligible for top positions in the most attractive cities of the world. Consequently most of the travel nurses find their job an enjoyable diversion from an everyday professional task in one location. Besides obtaining the right training and experience they must attain soft skills necessary to be successful as a travel nurse. The best travel nurses become accustomed to change; they can remain composed and positive in rapidly changing surroundings and can quickly establish an efficient dynamic team when working with new people.
Accordingly our journal publishes original manuscripts related to the significance of the nursing world with their understanding of their investigations and examination. Areas of concerns of this journal include regulation of the profession, workplace issues, innovations in practice, patient safety, quality improvement education, ethics, nurses' work-life experiences, and the impact of globalization and technology on nursing on health and social strategy.
